My Kid’s Bedtime Conversations

note: for this write-up I will post both the vernacular conversation as well as the translated one…

 

Me and Ched always love to be with Lyka before she goes to sleep. 

We love it most because it is the best time to cuddle her, since during the day time you can barely do that because she is either watching TV, playing online barbie games or playing with her toys. 

Sometimes she would let us read her a story of any book we bought for her that will caught her fancy, sometimes she would request my silly made-up stories about me living in the forest when I was a kid, and sometimes she and her mom will just have some conversations of anything Lyka could think of. 

Tonight was one of the sometimes where she was so sleepy but still wants to have a conversation with her mom and she started it with an innocent question.

I am just writing down all I heard from their conversation as best as I could… hehehe… 

Lyka: “Mommy, I wish to be a real princess”
Mom: “Sure.”

Lyka: “Where do a princess lives?”
Mom: “In the palace..”

Lyka: “What will we ride to get to the palace.”
Mom: “Jeepney.”
Lyka: “I don’t think so! It’s unicorns!”

Mom: “Hmm.. do you want to leave us daddy behind?”
Lyka: “Why?”
Mom: “Because you are now going to the palace.”
Lyka: “I think you and daddy should come along, we will wish for 3 unicorns.”

She was almost asleep but fired up another query…

Lyka: “Mommy, do you know what makes you are real princess?”
Mom: “When you will marry a prince…” 

Lyka: “Mommy, I am so sleepy… does a palace have a bed?”
Mom: “Of course. Palaces have complete and nice things.”

Lyka: “If there are no beds there, can I go back home?”
Mom: “Sure you can always go back home in our house.”
Lyka: “Will I walk back home or will I get back home with the unicorn?”

Lyka: “Mommy. How to make a real princess?”
Mom: “You become one when a fairy grants your wish.”

Lyka: “Where?” 
Mom: “When you will call them they will the appear to grant your wish.” 

Lyka : “Where do they come from?” ….in which Ched then answered the best answer she could think of since she herself was not sure where do fairies live…
Mom: “From the forest.” 

Lyka: “Mommy I am so sleepy that I decided not to go to the palace anymore.”

Her mommy then finding out that Lyka did not have a diaper on, went and got some diaper for her…

Mom: “Lyka lets have your diaper first so that you don’t wet the bed in the palace.”
Lyka: “I am telling you that I won’t have to go anymore because I am now so sleepy…”

in which she then promptly rolled to her side and was off to dreamland never to be bothered by any of us… (“,)

After Ched put on her diaper she then smiled… I smiled as well… Haaaaaaaaay Lyka… We daddy and mommy loves you so much.

Lyka: “Where mag-live ang princess?”
Mom: “Sa palace..”

Lyka: “What ang e-ride pag-go sa palace.”
Mom: “Jeep.”
Lyka: “Dili uy! Unicorn!”

Mom: “Nah biyaan na lugar mi nimo ni daddy?”
Lyka: “Why man?”
Mom: “Kay mag-go naman ka sa palace.”
Lyka: “Magkuyog man mo ni daddy, mag wish ug 3 ka unicorn.”

Lyka: “Mommy unsaon mahimo ug real princess?”
Mom: “Mag-marry ug prince…” 

Lyka: “Mommy sleepy naman kaau ko… naay bed sa palace?”
Mom: “Naa. Nice kaau ang mga things sa palace kumpleto na tanan.”

Lyka: “If walay bed didto pwede ko mag go home?”
Mom: “Sure always man ka pwede mag-go home sa house.”
Lyka: “Magwalk lang ko pag-go home or mag-go back apil ang unicorn?”

Lyka: “Mommy, unsaon man pag-make ug real princess?”
Mom: “Pag-i-grant na sa fairy imong wish.”

Lyka: “Where man dapit ang fairy?” 
Mom: “Mag-call lang ka kay mogawas ra man na sila para mag-wish ka.” 

Lyka : “Where mana sila gikan?” ….in which Ched then answered the best answer she could think of since she herself was not sure where do fairies live…
Mom: “Gikan sa forest.” 

Lyka: “Mommy sleepy naman kaau ko, dili nlang ko mag-go sa palace”

Her mommy then finding out that Lyka did not have a diaper on, went and got some diaper for her…

Mom: “Lyka mag-diaper sa ta kay basin maihian nimo ang bed sa palace,”
Lyka: “Dili na lagi ko mag-go kay sleepy na ko..”

in which she then promptly rolled to her side and was off to dreamland never to be bothered by any of us… (“,)

Katawa daun si Ched… ako pud Katawa… Haaaaaaaaay Lyka… We daddy and mommy loves you so much.
